These prints are inspired by the varied and wonderful weather that we experience in North Louth. “Misty Seas”, “Sun Through Clouds” and “ Rolling Hills” are a set. “Sun Through Rain” and “Sun over Sea” are another set.
“Misty Seas” is about the coast, especially Carlingford and Co. Louth. The morning sun coming through a misty sky, the long sea strand when the tide is out and the swarms of winter birds flying overhead.
“Sun through Clouds” is what is seen after rain on a cloudy day; the sun, still obscured, starts to break through and you know that the rest of the day is going to be nice.
“Rolling Hills” is about the mist and fog seen almost out of nowhere come suddenly rolling over the Cooley hillsides.
“Sun through Rain” is inspired by an American friend who observed that Ireland was the only country that she had ever been to where the sun was shining and it was raining at the same time! This is about that and the resulting Rainbows.
“Sun over Sea” is about the amazing red winter sun rises that can be seen in the Cooley peninsula on clear mornings.
“Setting Sun” is about the sunset, of course!
The 4 Seasons Series
These prints are about celebrating the seasons in Co. Louth and have actually proved very popular with people collecting the full set over time!
“Viridian Sky” is about the clear bright days of spring when everything is starting to grow and the birds are singing. There are wild spring flowers in the fields and hedgerows and the days on the hills seem endless.
